My night off was spent at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema SF where I was donating a PA system for Rogue Wave’s‘s live performance after the screening of D-Tour. Zach and Pat played a unique variety of songs and it was really great to see so many people turn out for the event. 🙂
If you’ve never seen Jim Granato‘s excellent documentary about Rogue Wave drummer Pat Spurgeon‘s life or death search for a kidney donor then do yourself a favor and add it to your MUST SEE list of great music biopic’s. It’s an inspiring true story about the tenacity and determination required to keep following your dreams, no matter what illness or tragedy may befall you. It’s both uplifting and heart wrenching at the same time. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Thanks to Sharon from Donor Network West for staffing the table and being available to speak about the importance of volunteering to be an organ donor.
Here’s last night’s view from behind the audio table facade. For me it was a 18+ hour day but everything turned out beautifully and a really sweet couple got married at the gorgeous Bernardus Lodge in Carmel Valley. Huge thanks to Ivy Hill Entertainment for bringing A Sound Objective in on another gig to provide our wedding sound services!
Yesterday I had the honor and privilege of providing the sound system (and mixing) for the AWESOME Heather Mae set at the Curvy Girl Lingerie store in San Jose, CA. She put on such a beautiful performance with excellent songs and stories and everyone there was so connected and moved by her music and messages. It was truly one of the most proud moments of my career to have been there in a supporting role.
Huge thanks to both Heather Mae for traveling so far and Chrystal for being the generous, benevolent force that brings so many people together in Body Positivity. Also, a huge shout out to Suzanne of Little Spiral Music for generously donating an awesome keyboard for Heather Mae to use!
